What to do if I became a victim of human trafficking?

  • Call the police 

– even if you work illegally or are forced to commit crime. The police authorities are obliged to help you.

  • Call 112

–  112 is free emergency helpline in the EU + other countries

  • Call 0800 800 818 

– 0800 800 818 is free National helpline for victims of human trafficking

– from abroad, you need to call with the area code +421 800 800 818

– the helpline is operating at weekday from 8:00 – 20:00, if you call the helpline out of operated hours you can leave a message and our staff will get back to you on the next working day

– you can speak Slovak, Hungarian and English on the helpline

  • Email communication

– If you don’t feel comfortable talking to us over the phone, you can email us at stoptrafficking@charita.sk and we will get back to you as soon as possible

  • Run away

– to a public place (e.g. shopping center, post office, place with a cross – church, hospital)

  • PROGRAM FOR THE SUPPORT AND PROTECTION OF VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS

– The Program for the Support and Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings is designed to help victims/potential victims of trafficking in human beings, under which they are entitled to:

– safe accommodation
– medical care
– social counselling
– personal assistance with official formalities
– material assistance
– psychological assistance
– legal assistance
– return home from abroad

  • If you have been trafficked abroad, we can provide you with:

– ticket for travelling home
– replacement travel document

  • Conditions of entry:

– Identification as a potential victim of trafficking
– Entry into the program is on a VOLUNTARY basis
– Breaking contact with the criminal environment
